My name is Amy Moorhous and I am the new Commerce Township “Card My Yard” franchise owner. I have only lived in Commerce Twp for a little over 2 years but previously lived just about 2 miles away in White Lake, for 10 years, so I am very familiar with all the surrounding zip codes I will be servicing. My children are in 9th grade and 12th grade at Walled Lake Northern and have been part of the Walled Lake Consolidated School District since preschool and kindergarten. In addition to my children, I am happily married to my husband, Mike. We’ve been together 24 years this fall. We also have a German Sheppard, Gemma, she is my baby. Also, a cat named Nugget.
Years ago, I owned my own cleaning business and loved severing the community and making people happy. I then decided to join the corporate world about 6 years ago as a financial analyst for an automotive supplier. While I enjoy my job, I missed bringing happiness to people, and the happiness that owning my own business brought to my life, so I started researching franchises. But I didn’t find any that appealed to me. A few weeks later I was looking for something special for my daughter's 18th birthday and I had remembered that my neighbors had signs in their yard, and so I did a Google search for yard greeting signs and came across the “Card My Yard” website. Unfortunately, Commerce Township was not a serviced area. In addition to the note that they didn’t service my area, the website asked if I was interested in finding out more about becoming a franchisee. The light bulb went off in my head and I immediately got the ball rolling. I look forward to getting out into the community and spreading joy!
